Holocene-Bon Iver

Be still every single body part of mine. Bon Iver, one of my favorite artists, has released a new music video for his latest single “Holocene”, taken from his upcoming album. The video was shot by director/photographer Nabil Elderkin in Iceland.

Holocene is a geological epoch that began at the end of the Pleistocene (around 10,000 years ago) and continues to the present. The name comes from the Greek words Holos and Kainos, which mean “entirely recent.” The Holocene also encompasses within it the growth and impacts of the human species world-wide, including all its written history and overall significant transition toward urban living in the present.

The song opens with “Someway, baby, it’s part of me, apart from me.” Listen to the rest of the lyrics carefully and see how they relate to these mesmerizing landscapes, and what we, humans, are ultimately doing to them.

I think Holocene is one of the loveliest song I ever heard, with this said I recommend you listen to this version. He’s a Lebanese/Jordanian guy who covered this song, simply amazing voice and great twist to the song !
